Governing Bodies

Australian Kendo Renmei (AKR)

The AKR is recognised internationally as the governing body for Kendo, Iaido and Jodo in Australia, and domestically recognised by the Australian Sports Commission as the National Sporting Organisation (NSO) to develop Kendo, Iaido and Jodo in Australia.  AKR Policies can be found here.

International Kendo Federation (FIK)

The FIK is the world-wide federation of national Kendo, Iaido and Jodo organisations.  The FIK is affiliated with SportAccord (formerly GAISF) a signatory to the World Anti-Doping Agency drugs in sport policy and is recognised as the international governing federation for Kendo, Iaido and Jodo.

International Aikido Federation (IAF)

The IAF is a federation of aikido organisations which are directly affiliated to the Aikikai Hombu in Japan, the ‘mother house’ of Aikido. 

ACT Kendo Renmei (ACTKR)

The ACTKR is the sole body in the ACT affiliated with the AKR.  The principle objectives of the ACTKR are to promote the interest in Kendo, Seitei Iaido and Seitei Jodo, within the Australian Capital Territory, and the surrounding districts.

Australian Kyudo Association (AKA)

The AKA is an administrative body to support the club members of affiliated state associations through access to national seminars, examinations, and international events.

Australian Naginata Federation (ANF)

The Australian Naginata Federation Inc. (ANF) is the internationally recognised governing body for Naginata in Australia.
